Supplements that fight Inflammation

Trauma, illness and stress as well as unhealthy foods and lifestyle habits may lead to inflammation. Food that support anti-inflammation, exercise, good sleep and stress management are some of the few ways highly recommended for fighting inflammation.

In some cases, where anti-inflammation is not supported by your daily food intake getting additional support from nutraceutical products is suggested to be a useful solution :- 

1. Alpha-Lipoic Acid

Alpha-lipoic acid is a fatty acid produced by your bodies, it plays a key role in metabolism and energy production. It performs functions of an antioxidant, protecting your body from cell damage by restoring levels of other important antioxidants like vitamin C and E.

Several studies conducted have concluded that Alpha-Lipoic Acid is useful for reducing the inflammation linked to liver disease, insulin resistance, cancer, heart disease and other disorders.

2. Curcumin

Curcumin as a compound of turmeric is known for the several impressive health benefits offered by it. Curcumin is considered increasingly useful for decreasing inflammation in diabetes, inflammatory bowel disease, heart disease and cancer, to name a few. Curcumin is also considered beneficial for reducing inflammation and improving symptoms of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. When taken on its own curcumin cannot be absorbed properly, but its absorption can be boosted by as much as 2,000% by taking it with piperine, and thus turmeric supplements are formulated with curmumin and piperine, which functions better as it increases curcumins absorption. 

3. Fish Oil

Fish oil supplements contain omega-3 fatty acids which consist of EPA & DHA which is necessary for good health. They are useful for decreasing the inflammation associated with diabetes, heart disease, cancer and many other conditions. Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) are the most beneficial types of omega-3s. It is also useful for decreasing inflammation and muscle damage that occurs after exercise. A study conducted has shown that fish oil supplements plays a significant role in significantly reducing inflammatory markers TNF alpha and IL-6 levels after vigorous exercise. It should be assured that Fish oil supplements should be consumed only after they have been processed to remove mercury. 

4. Ginger

Ginger supplements are well known for their effective treatment of indigestion and nausea, including morning sickness. Two components of ginger, gingerol and zingerone, are widely known for reducing the inflammation linked to colitis, kidney damage, diabetes and breast cancer. Ginger supplements are also considered useful for reducing inflammation c and muscle soreness after exercise. 1 to 2 grams of ginger daily is suggested for consumption. At this recommended level there shall be no side effects which my take place in high dosages which may lead to the blood getting thinner.
